Abstract
Three angles of a chain-saw tooth-α, β and i (see Fig. 1)-were changed into several levels, and sixty-three chain-saw teeth which have all the different combinations of values of above mentioned three angles were tested with an Izod impact testing machine which was reformed for this test. And the influence of β on energy consumption and the interactions among α, β and i were mainly investigated.
The results: Energy consumption increased monotonously as β increased from 30° to 70° And interaction of β×i was significant at 1% level probability but those of α×β and α×i were not significant.
