Abstract
In this report, we examined the area distribution of the terrain distances, that is to say the distances from the individual stands to the nearest road in a forest road network, by investigating it practically and theoretically. Here, we tried to apply a formula of the type (8) to the distribution function, where t is the distance ratio to the mean distance, g(t) is the cumulative area ratio corresponding to t and z is a parameter, and then concluded that formula (3) is available to predict the area distribution of the terrain distances in a mountain forest.
