Abstract
Shifts of the height-diameter curve in an even-aged pure stand is discussed in connection with both diameter and height growths. In an even-aged pure stand, periodic diameter increment shows a clear positive linear relationship with diameter at the beginning of the period, whereas the periodic height increment shows none. Based on this result, for some height-diameter curves, this paper presents derived equations which predict future constants and coefficients of height-diameter curves. Because the method developed as reported in this paper cannot be applied to the HENRICKSEN equation, a modified HENRICKSEN equation, which is modified from the viewpoint of pragmatism, is proposed, and its application is presented.
