Abstract

Our opinion introduce complex management of wild vegetables and mushrooms for stable management in forestry and agriculture. This report focuses on a market survey of wild vegetables and mushrooms referring to results which were obtained in Fukushima Prefecture. A questionnaire was sent to green-grocers in Tokyo. The result shows that they bought wild vegetables and mushrooms, not through producers in the area, but in the market. More than 50 %, of the greengrocers in Tokyo forecast negative prospects for future supplies and demands, for wild vegetables compared with mushrooms. It seems to us that greengrocers in Tokyo have no category for wild vegetables among vegetables, whereas it is, recog-nized in Fukushima Prefecture, and in Tokyo that they have different markets and procedures for handling wild vegetables and mushrooms. The producers and green-grocers should try to enhance the consumers' consciousness of wild vegetables and mushrooms.
