Abstract
The records of 90 patients were reviewed, diagnosed squamous cell carcinoma of the floor of the mouth was diagnosed, and primary treatment of the patients was performed at National Cancer Center Hospital between 1984-1995 and National Cancer Center Hospital East between 1992-1995. There were 42 patients (46.7%) with stage III/IV. Eighty-eight patients (97.8%) underwent surgery and treatment, and 77 (85.6%) treated by surgery alone. The disease supecific 5-year survival rates were stage I: 87.7%, stage II: 88.0%, stage III: 76.9%, and stage IV: 58.3%. The prognosis became poor as the number of histologically positive node increased. Multiple primary cancers were discovered in 28 cases (31.5%).
