Survey on barriers and images of acupuncture treatment among headache specialists

Abstract

   The purpose of our study is questionnaire survey on barrier and impression for acupuncture in headache treatment. It was found that more than 80% of the headache specialists were interested in acupuncture. However, only about 10% of the respondents actually collaborated in their practice. Barriers to collaboration included the need to ensure safety and quality, and it was thought that fostering such collaboration and making expertise visible were issues to be addressed. It is necessary to build a platform to promote clinical research in Japan, accumulate evidence, and promote smooth collaboration．
