A questionnaire-based survey on headaches was conducted among full-time employees of the hospital. The following information was collected: age, sex, type of business, presence of headaches, frequency, duration and type of pain, status of medical visits, interference with daily activities due to headaches, aggravating factors of headaches and responses to headaches. The survey revealed that 79% of respondents experienced headaches and 21% may meet diagnostic criteria for migraine. Furthermore, 36% of participants reported experiencing moderate to severe interference with their daily activities, yet only 19% of these individuals sought medical attention. Similarly, 36% of participants reported experiencing moderate to severe interference with their daily lives, but only 19% of these individuals visited a healthcare professional. The low prevalence of visiting a healthcare professional suggests a lack of knowledge about migraine treatment and awareness of the importance of treatment. The results of this study suggest a need for activities to raise awareness of headache disorders among healthcare professionals and to provide appropriate medical care for headaches.
