Abstract
The new measuring method of a current for an electrosurgical knife has been investigated by detecting the electromagnetic wave radiated from the current cable. We found that a coaxial cable which was put near the current cable could detect the current wave form with ease. However, the absolute value of current can not be obtained from the current wave form detected by the coaxial cable. Thus, we tried to measure the absolute value of current by using the small coils. The absolute value of the current in the cable has been calculated from the induced electromotive force detected by the coil which is put near the current cable. In this paper, we mention the possibility of continuous intraoperative monitoring of the current which is flowing in the cable of the electrosurgical knife.
