Abstract
Inverse square sensitometry in the low energy region is limited by the air attenuation. Therefore, it is difficult to obtain the accurate characteristic curve for the mammography system.
We applied the new method using the technique of Bednarek with the gradual change of the distance to sensitometry in the low energy region. Then we compared it with inverse square sensitometry, which corrected air attenuation by the method already suggested.
As a result, the characteristic curve got by the two different techniques coincided with each other.
It was confirmed that the new method was useful as sensitometry in the low energy region.
