Infiltrating lipoma of the tongue is quite rare and has never been reported to date in Japan.
In the following, we report a case in which 65-year-old man who had bilateral infiltrating lipoma of the tongue.
In this case the tumor seemed to be lipomatosis because it was not encapsulated and featured invasion in muscle and was located symmetrically. Finally we confirmed that the tumor was infiltrating lipoma according to the two facts that the lipoma was confined to the tongue and histopathologically there were mature lipocytes infiltrating muscle in a diffuse manner.
