Abstract

99mTc-Rhenium colloid lymphoscintigraphy was performed on 6 cases of oral cancer. The results were as follows:
1) In respect of injection site, we selected the submucous area in the gingivobuccal fold of upper molar region and the subcutaneous area just beneath mastoid process.
2) To obtain fine image of submandibular and cervical lymph nodes, it was necessary to simultaneously inject both intra-and extraorally.
3) Adequate injection dose of RI colloid was approximately 1mCi per site.
4) The images 3 to 6 hours after injection were thought to be desirable.
5) Covering the injection site by a lead board and oblique-position photography were important for obtaining image.
