Abstract

Until date, several studies have investigated the mechanisms of the mental rotation of written characters and figures. However, they have not considered color array as a visual stimulus. Although the present study did not confirm the dependence on the direction of mental rotation as observed with other visual stimuli, its findings revealed, that mental rotation reduces recognition performance, thereby demonstrating. a unique property of the mental rotation of color array.
