Development of system that can obtain texts on web page based on gazing point

Abstract

Low-cost and non-contact gaze input devices for consumers have been released, and a great deal of attention has been focused on the gaze interface. We developed a new user interaction system using contactless eye tracking device. Our system automatically extracts a word that is estimated a user's interest word from the Web page, based on the gazing point and gazing time. In addition, the system presents more information about the gazed word on the screen and supports user's Web browsing. In this paper, as a basic examination of an interaction that extracts the interest information, the system structure and verification results of the proposed system were shown.
