Abstract
Multiple nodular lesions and peliosis hepatis developed within hepatic parenchyma in a patient with aplastic anemia who was treated with danazol for 6 years, followed by oxymetholone for 4 years. After 4 months of incidental abdominal CT examination that revealed multiple nodular lesions in liver, the patient was admitted to our hospital because of severe and sudden right upper quadrant pain. A large peliosis hepatis along with nodular lesions and a small amount of intraperitoneal hemorrhage were detected by abdominal CT. Peliosis hepatis underwent regression with supportive therapy. We report sequential changes of hepatic lesions and peliosis hepatis associated with androgen-anabolic steroid in this case with CT findings. Radiological examinations are crucial for an aplastic anemia patient receiving androgenic steroid even when liver dysfunction is not obvious.
