Abstract
Potted borage (Borago officinalis) plants developed stem and petiole rot and fungal sclerotia in a vinyl house in Tsu City, Mie Prefecture, Japan, in January 2008. Sclerotinia sclerotiorum was isolated from the diseased plants, and pathogenicity was confirmed after plants were inoculated with the isolated fungus, developed the same symptoms, and the fungus was reisolated.
