Effect of DNA Fraction of Potato Interspecific Hybrid having R₁ gene on the Fleck Formation of Late Blight

Abstract

Both hypersnsitive flecks and susceptible lesions were found on the interspecific hybrid 1506-b (9) (R₁R₄ genes) infected by Phytophthora infestans (Race 1) after being applied with DNA fraction extracted from interspecific hybrid 96-56 (R₁ gene) and vice versa. Both hypersensitive flecks and susceptible lesions were also found on the interspecific hybrid 1506-b (9) by inoculating lower leaves of potatoes with Phytophthora infestans (Race 1) after upper leaves were applied with the DNA fraction extracted from the interspecific hybrid 96-56.
