Abstract
Dieback of atemoya (Annona squamosa L.×A. cherimola Mill.) occurrred in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, in August 1993. The fungus isolated from a dead stem was demonstrated to be the pathogen and identified as Fusarium decemcellulare Brick. The common name of dieback (“Edagarebyo”) is proposed for this new disease of atemoya.
