Abstract

Psychosocial stress is one of the environmental factors associated with several respiratory diseases, such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, obstructive sleep apnea syndrome and hyperventilation syndrome. Team medical care is most important for therapeutic strategies of these psychosomatic respiratory diseases. Many therapeutic methods, such as inhalation therapy, home oxygen therapy and continuous positive airway pressure, are recently developed and complicated not only with patients but also medical staffs, such as doctors, nurses and clinical psychologists, who directly communicate with these patients. Therefore, we should learn about the detail of therapeutic methods for better understanding of respiratory psychosomatic diseases. The aim of this experience-based workshop is to learn what therapeutic methods for respiratory diseases are, and to experience how to use therapeutic devices. To learn these, we can truly share the feeling and thoughts of patients with psychosomatic respiratory diseases.
