Abstract
We experienced an infant with a sudden onset of croup-like symptom which did not respond to medical treatment. At a later time, further examination revealed a foreign body, a piece of sticker, in the larynx.Recent literature also showed that a diagnosis of laryngeal foreign body (LFB) is prone to be delayed. We considered that the thin plate-like or needle-like shape of LFB accounts for one of the reasons for the delayed diagnosis. For atypical croup syndrome, we should suspect LFB and ask the parents of the possibility of aspiration especially emphasizing the shape of the object.
