A 53-year-old male suffering Hodgkin's disease had had VEMP treatment and gotten noncomplete remission. But, soonafter, he complained of fever, cough and sputum, when his chest roentgenogram showed abnormal shadow in the lower part of the right lung. Then, he complicated the right pleuritis, and the culture of the pleural fluid revealed Nocardia asteroides. Sulfaisomezol and S. M. was given, but pneumothorax occured and respiratory insufficiency developped, and he was dead. Autopsy revealed N. asteroides in the abscesses.
