Abstract
Endobronchial hamartoma is an extremely rare disease and only a few cases have been reported in Japan.
The first case was a 46 year old male suspected of early lung cancer in the hilar region who recieved right middle and lower lobe lobectomy. The secoud case was also male, 54 years old, and underwent right lower lobectomy on a diagnosis of bronchial adenoma. In the gross examination of both cases, a bean-sized, firm, smooth polypoid lesion was found in the mucosa of the orifice of B6. Microscopically, in both cases the tumors were composed of submucosal adenochondromatous masses which were covered with regular ciliated columnal epithelium and contained bronchial glands with edematous stroma in the center of the mass.
