Abstract
A 28-year-old man was admitted with nasal stuffiness of 12 months' duration. physical examination revealed generalized discrete enlargement of the lymphnodes and multiple subcutaneous nodules. He had a severe nasal obstruction, due to marked granulomatous hypertrophy of the nasal septum and bilateral inferior turbinates. The chest X-ray film showed BHL and diffuse small nodular lesions in both lung fields. There was abnormal 67Ga accumulation in the nose as well as in the lung. A diagnosis of sarcoidosis was confirmed by biopsy of nasal mucosa, lymphnode, subcutaneous nodule and by transbronchial lung biopsy, which showed non-caseating granuloma. The nasal mucosal lesion as well as intra- and extra-thoracic lesions responded to corticosteroid therapy with marked improvement.
