AN EXAMINATION OF DIFFERENT VALUES BY TLD READERS IN RADIATION THERAPY

Abstract

For the purpose of checking the accuracy of the readings of the TLD elements, 4TLD readers of the same make 25 TLD rods (grass rod seal type) were used in dosimetry. Each TLD reader measured all of the TLD elements, and the average value of the elements were not caused by their performances. However, differences between the values measured by each TLD reader reached as high as 40%. As a result of these experiments, the necessity of a regional or a small calibrator to be combined with the reader was considered.
