Abstract
Case 1 is a 57-year-old woman. She was had had a cholecystectomy and choledochotomy for cholelithiasis nine years Prior to being admitted due to jaundice. The patient had an upper common bile duct stenosis ; hepatic portal region cholangiocarcinoma was diagnosed and surgery was done. Case 2 is a 60-year-old woman. She had had a cholecystectomy and choledochotomy for gallstone cholecystitis two years, eight months prior. She developed very yellow colored urine and was found to be jaundiced. Choledochal stenosis was diagnosed and surgery to relieve the benign biliary tract stenosis was done. In both of these cases an extrahepatic bile duct excision was done. On pathology, an amputation neuroma was diagnosed in both. We report these rare cases of amputation neuroma that occurred in the biliary system and discuss the literature.
