Abstract
A 58-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital for hematemesis in a state of shock. Emergency upper gastrointestinal endoscopy showed a Forrest IIb ulcer on the posterior wall in the middle of the stomach. Huge hematomas were observed in the stomach. We suspected arterial bleeding, but we did not perform clipping because the ulcer might have penetrated the pancreas. Abdominal computed tomography showed aneurysm of the splenic artery, leading to penetrating ulcer of the stomach. Emergency interventional radiology was performed, and the bleeding was controlled by coil embolization. Cases of ruptured splenic artery aneurysm in the stomach are rare.
