Abstract
Adrenal myelolipoma is a benign tumor which is mostly found incidentally on imaging. Follow-up is indicated, but surgical excision is reserved for tumors of a certain size ; the exact size is still under discussion.
A 65-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital for surgery of a right adrenal mass which had been found incidentally on CT scan during preoperative examinations for breast cancer done 13 years earlier. At that time, abdominal CT scan and MRI showed a 2.5-cm-sized solid mass with a fat component. The tumor was diagnosed as a benign right adrenal myelolipoma. A percutaneous biopsy was performed, and the tumor was diagnosed as a myelolipoma on histopathology. The tumor increased to 7 cm in diameter during 13 years of follow-up : therefore, a laparoscopic right adrenalectomy was performed.
