Abstract
We report a case of metastatic pulmonary tumor originating from the mesentery which underwent complete resection as a solitary fibrous tumor in the mesentery 16 years earlier. In an 84-year-old man, small nodular shadows were detected in both lungs by computed tomography (CT) examination before a gastrectomy for stomach cancer ; and they were considered to be benign tumors by a radiologist. However, a follow-up CT revealed growth and an increase in the number of these shadows. To confirm the diagnosis, a pulmonary wedge resection was performed by video assisted thoracic surgery. The pulmonary tumor was diagnosed pathologically as metastasis of the solitary fibrous tumor which originated from the mesentery.
