Abstract
A 53-year-old woman was brought into our hospital by ambulance because of abdominal pain and hematemesis. An abdominal CT scan showed free air in the abdominal cavity. Upper gastrointestinal perforation was likely and an emergency operation was performed. From laparotomy findings, perforated gastric cancer with invasion to the pancreas and peritoneal dissemination was diagnosed and impregnation of the greater omentum and gastrojejunostomy were performed. Adjuvant chemotherapy with TS-1, TS1+CDDP and TS-1+CPT-11 was carried out and the patient has been doing well for more than four years.
No long-term survivors after having unresectable perforated gastric cancer have been reported so far. This paper deals with our valuable experience with such a long-term survivor.
