Abstract
A 13-year-old male patient with no previous history developed a sudden, continuous abdominal pain. He was examined in the emargency room. An abdominal contrast CT scan showed a 4×3 cm tumor-like lesion in the left small intestine. An intussusception along with stragulation of the small intestine was suspected ; surgery was performed immediately. An intraoperative diagnosis of intussusception which was caused by a tumor of the small intestine was made. Postoperativly, a diagnosis of a hyperplastic polyp of the ileum was made.
Hyperplastic polyp of the small intestine is very unusual, especially in childhood. Thus, this case is being reported.
