Abstract
Case 1 : An 80-year-old woman developed a recurrent tumor in the abdominal wall 14 months after she underwent right hemicolectomy for cecal cancer. She underwent resection of the recurrent tumor and reconstruction of the abdominal wall with a composite mesh patch. Three months after the surgery, the patient visited our hospital with abdominal pain due to delayed mesh infection. She underwent conservative therapy for 1 month, but it did not improve her condition. Therefore, the mesh was removed, and drainage was performed.
Case 2 : An 82-year-old woman developed the complication of an incisional hernia 17 months after she underwent surgery for colon cancer she underwent mesh repair with a composite mesh patch. Eight months after the surgery, she visited our hospital with abdominal pain due to mesh infection. She underwent conservative therapy for 12 months, but it did not improve her condition. Therefore, she underwent surgery for mesh removal, and drainage was performed.
