Abstract
A 73-year-old woman who was receiving dabigatran to prevent thrombosis from atrial fibrillation, was transferred to our hospital because of unstable vital signs. An enhanced computed tomography (CT) showed haemoperitoneum and aneurysms in the gastroepiploic artery area. An emergency abdominal angiography depicted two segmental aneurysms at the right gastroepiploic artery. We performed a transcatheter arterial embolization for hemostasis of the ruptured aneurysms. Afterward, the clinical course was stable, so that anticoagulation therapy was resumed on the following day, resulting in discharge on the 6th day. We discuss here a therapeutic strategy for the aneurysm in the gastroepiploic artery.
