Abstract
A 53-year-old woman with breast cancer who regularly visited the outpatient clinic for chemotherapy presented with a condition similar to superior vena cava syndrome. Her condition occurred due to distal internal jugular vein occlusion caused by massive neck skin metastasis. This occlusion was caused by massive neck skin metastasis, giving rise to symptoms such as swelling of the face and mouth. Radiotherapy or chemotherapy is the usual treatment for this condition. However, we could not administer either treatment because laryngeal edema had occurred after past radiation therapy and the internal jugular vein occlusion occurred during chemotherapy. We therefore implanted a stent in the internal jugular vein to relieve symptoms, which improved the quality of life of our patient.
