Abstract
A 75-year-old man presented with a chief complaint of back pain, and was hospitalized for testing and treatment. Abdominal computed tomography showed an 8-cm tumor toward the side of the greater curvature of the gastric body. Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy showed compression from the tumor in the greater curvature of the gastric body. The patient was diagnosed with gastric mesenchymal tumor and underwent local gastric excision. Histologically, primary gastric dedifferentiated liposarcoma was diagnosed. Liposarcoma is difficult to diagnose preoperatively, and dedifferentiated liposarcoma shows a poor prognosis. Primary gastric liposarcoma is a very rare disease, and this case is discussed with reference to the literature.
