Abstract
We report a case of ileum metastasis from invasive lobular carcinoma of the breast. A 44-year-old woman was diagnosed as having bilateral invasive lobular carcinoma of the breast with metastases to the axillar lymph nodes and bones, T2N3cM1(OSS), Stage IV, ER positive, PR positive, Her2 negative, and Ki-67 of 25%. Her general condition was favorable and she was treated with tamoxifen, goserelin acetate and zoledronic acid hydrate. Four months later, she was hospitalized to our hospital because she developed small bowel obstruction. Laparoscopy assisted right colectomy was performed. The histological diagnosis was ileum metastasis from invasive lobular carcinoma of the breast. Postoperative chemotherapy using FEC followed by docetaxel showed a marked effect. The elevated tumor marker dropped within normal range, the primary tumor and involved lymph nodes had shrunken, and ileum metastasis is well controlled.
