Abstract
The patient was in his sixties who had presented man presented to us 3 years 8 months after he had undergone resection for a malignant pleomorphic adenoma. PET-CT showed elevated uptake in S6 of the liver. After detailed examinations, including blood tests and imaging analyses, the patient was diagnosed as having a metastatic liver tumor ; the tumor was resected laparoscopically. Needle biopsy was not performed owing to the risk of dissemination. Examination of the resected specimen by histopathology revealed no tumor or evidence of malignancy, and the mass was diagnosed as a foreign body granuloma or eosinophilic granuloma of the liver. Herein, we report this case along with a literature review.
