Abstract
Right aortic arch is a rare congenital malformation. It is considered to occur in approximately 0.1% of the population. Furthermore, few surgical cases of lung carcinoma with the right aortic arch have been reported. Especially in performing surgery for right lung carcinoma, attention must be paid to the existence of the right aortic arch and the course of the right recurrent laryngeal nerve in dissection of the upper mediastinal lymph nodes. Pre- and perioperative evaluation is mandatory. Accumulation and share of further cases of right lung cancer with the right aortic arch would be necessary. We report our case of right upper lobe lung carcinoma with the right aortic arch together with a review of 13 reported cases from the literature.
