A 78-year-old woman presented with a lump in her left breast. On palpation, a 30-mm tumor was felt in the AC area of the left breast. Ultrasonography showed a 33 × 28 × 18 mm hypoechoic tumor with irregular shape in the left breast. The tumor was suspected to be a phyllodes tumor based on the results of fine needle aspiration biopsy. We performed partial mastectomy with a surgical margin of normal tissue approximately 1-cm wide. The histopathological diagnosis was myxofibrosarcoma, and whole breast radiotherapy was performed. It is sometimes difficult to distinguish between phyllodes tumor and sarcoma of the chest wall preoperatively. We report a case of myxofibrosarcoma which was diagnosed as phyllodes tumor of the breast preoperatively.
