Acupuncture needles as a medical device

Abstract

This presentation focused on the background of the popularization of disposable acupuncture needles, related regulations, standards, and risk management. Disposable acupuncture and moxibustion needles have greatly contributed to improving the safety of acupuncture and moxibustion treatment. On the other hand, however, there are some aspects of laws, regulations, and standards for acupuncture and moxibustion needles as medical devices. In his lecture, he gave an overview of these regulations and standards. He also mentioned the importance of risk management and introduced specific measures such as checking the attached documents and using related books. Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of safety education in the acupuncture and moxibustion industry. Through this lecture, we sincerely hope that acupuncture and moxibustion practitioners will deepen their understanding of acupuncture needles as medical devices and be able to provide safe, high-quality acupuncture and moxibustion treatment.
