Inclusion of Infertility Acupuncture as Special Presentation and Its Future

Abstract

Until the 64th Academic Conference in Fukushima held in 2015, there had been no special presentation such as educational lectures or symposiums on acupuncture treatment for infertility at our academic conferences for a long time. This was due to the lack of evidence in fertility acupuncture treatment.However, in recent years, there has been a rise in the number systematic reviews and meta-analyses with robust evidence published overseas.As a result, fertility acupuncture has become a popular session at our academic conferences and local branch training sessions. Now that fertility acupuncture has become more prevalent, I hope more general presentations in this field will be conducted so that the amassed materials from the presentation may be utilized as big data. It is my wish that many more acupuncturists take part in general presentations. I look forward to witnessing the publication of high-quality evidence from Japan in this field.
