On June 19−24, 2024, the International Conference for Emergency Medicine 2024 (ICEM2024) was held in Taipei, Taiwan. The Japanese Society for Aeromedical Services (JSAS) International Committee organized and conducted a Pre-conference HEMS Workshop focusing on the introduction of Doctor-Helicopters (physician-staffed HEMS) in Taiwan. Experts from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Italy presented the current status and future prospects of HEMS in their respective countries. The workshop also featured a presentation on the latest Tiltrotor Aircraft AW609, emphasizing technological advancements of the air-medical transport. Participants from across Asia, including Taiwan and other Asian countries, engaged in discussions on the challenges and opportunities of implementing Doctor-Helicopter systems. This workshop provided a valuable platform for fostering future collaborations to support the development of the Doctor-Helicopter service in Taiwan.
