Abstract
This paper presents the experimental stress analysis of structures by the photo-elastic method, which makes measurement of stress easier and simpler. Defects of traditional clamping method are pointed out and new method is proposed-resin model is cemented to mild steel block by adhesive.
It is not desirable, from the mechanical point of view, for large load to be applied to model, so in this paper low load method is adopted, even in which case stress distribution can be obtained in detail when Tardy method is applied.
Stress distribution of swept-back and delta wing structures along leading and trailing edges are measured when concentrated load is applied at tip. In experiments bi-layer method is adopted.
