Abstract
Dr. Whitsett's laboratory demonstrated that TTF-1 and HNF-3 play an important role in expression of lung-specific proteins such as surfactant proteins and CCSP. Both TTF-1 and HNF-3β are not only important transcription factors in lung morphogenesis in fetal lungs, but also are involved in the lung repair process in bronchopulmonary dysplasia. HFH-8 (FOXf1) might be also related to lung repair.
