Abstract
Arytenoid dislocation following tracheal intubation is a rare complication. An 18-year-old woman underwent thoracoplasty under general anesthesia with tracheal intubation in the prone position. Both intubation and extubation procedures were easy and smooth. Hoarseness occurred immediately after tracheal extubation and was persistent during 10 days' follow-up. She was referred to a laryngologist and right arytenoid dislocation was diagnosed with fiberscopy and tomography of the larynx. We scheduled closed reduction of the displaced arytenoid in case of no restoration in 12 weeks. Fortunately, spontaneous recovery of the voice abruptly occurred during conversation one month later.
