Abstract
Imprint smears prepared from 26 cases with common epithelial tumors were retrospectively examined. Conclusions thus obtained are as follows:
1) Individual tumor type may be differentiated to some extent by the cytodiagnostic method.
2) Distinction of low potential malignancy from carcinoma is not easy, but possible.
3) Differentiation between the immature-type of each tumor group and undifferentiated tumor is difficult.
4) A metastatic tumor requires a sufficient clinical data for diagnosis.
5) Rapid diagnosis for frozen section of a common epithelial tumor by means of the imprint cytologic diagnosis seems to be possible, if attention is paid to the points stated above.
