Abstract
The clonorchiasis is rare disease in Japan in recent years. A case of 65 years-old male with clonorchiasis, who had also liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma, is reported.
He was pointed out to have cholelithiasis and intrahepatic mass by USG. ERCP showed stones in gall bladder and common bile duct. At same time, washing cytology was also carried out and revealed many ovums of clonorchis senensis. Aspiration cytology of the liver tumor, guided by USG, showed malignancy.
Laparotomy was performed and cholecystectomy, choledochotomy, T-tube drainage and biopsy of the tumor were done. The liver tumor, however, couldn't be resected because of its invasion to retroperitonerl space and diaphragm.
He died 5 months after the operation. The autopsy revealed two liver tumor on right lobe, measured to be 8.0×9.0×8.0cm, and 4.0×4.0×4.0 cm. There were no worms in the bile duct. Histologically the tumors revealed hepatocellular carcinoma, and remaining liver parenchyma showed biliary cirrhosis.
