Abstract
We report the imprint cytological features of solid cystic (SC) tumor of the pancreas. The patient was a 40-year-old woman with abdominal inflation. CT scan revealed a 12-cm mass in the middle part of the pancreas and multiple metastatic lesions in the liver. Imprint tumor cells of the pancreas formed papillary clusters and exhibited increased nucleocytoplasmic ratio. Nuclei of euchromatin were rich, and irregular in size and shape. SC cells were positive for Periodic Acid-Schiff after diastase treatment. Histological examination showed tumor cells arranged in a papillary pattern. Immunohistchemical examination demonstrated tumor cells were positive for vimentin, progesterone receptor, NSE and synaptophysin.
