Abstract

The objective of this paper is to examine (1) how to interpret the action of girls in the training school and how to use it as a narrative resource for teachers, (2) the narrative approach technique used by teachers, and (3) how to change the resources and plots in P Girls Training School. We carried out the fieldwork in P Girls Training School. The following results were obtained. First, the teachers interpret the meaning of action in terms of rehabilitation and their interpretation is used in the interaction between the individual girls and their teachers as a resource for "re-stoying". Second, by "discovering the problem" or "externalization", the "re-storying" comes to be collaborative. Finally, the resources change from the past into the present, and the plot changes form "individualized plot" to a "socialized plot".
