Abstract
The rock pre stressing system was planned for the foundation treatment at the left bank of Kawamata arch dam.
The improving project of foundation consists of transmitting wall, rock prestressing system and retaining wall, and they have very close relations each others.
The follow ing two P. S. methods are adopted for the total prestressing forces and working conditions.
i) DYWIDAG. Method.
ii) B. B. R. V. Method.
The former uses high tension bars and tensile force is 240t per one bore hole (φ130m/m), the latter uses P. C cable and tensile force is 140tper one bore hole (φ100m/m).
