Abstract

This paper focuses on historical structures constructed with modern structures and construction methods, such as brick, concrete, and steel structures. First, “what constitutes value?” that is, what should be preserved, revitalized, or reused, is outlined. Then the practical difficulties are explained, and finally, the technologies required for repair and restoration are detailed. This is expected to encourage the active participation of such as general civil engineers and building engineers.
