Abstract

 Diabetic foot ulcers(DFUs)are one of the most serious and common complications of diabetes, easily deepened and refractory due to easy infection, and in some cases can lead to lower extremity amputation.
 In this report, we describe a case of a patient with a refractory DFUs who was successfully treated with negative pressure wound therapy and EPIFIX®, a tissue healing material made from human amniotic membrane, to preserve the toe and maintain walking function.
